Natural Golf Single Plane Swing First Move Forward To The Ball
The FIRST MOVE and following sequence for the Natural Golf Single Plane Swing:
The Top of the Backswing is where a dynamic change of direction occurs in preparation for the forward swing. The direction change is stabilized from the ground up and is initiated by a weight shift to the center of the left foot. This shift of weight is in anticipation of the arms transitioning from the Backswing to the forward swing.
The weight transfer is accomplished by pushing the left knee toward the left foot, which shifts the body weight from the center of the right foot to the center of the left foot. The right leg responds to this lateral motion with a slight decrease in knee flex. The hips also shift laterally toward the target, working with the left leg to begin the formation of a braced left side. Both feet stay flat on the ground.
The lower body motion described above begins just before the arms reach their final backswing position. Because the arms swing independent from the body, and the weight shift is a body motion, the arms will continue to travel slightly farther back to the right as the body weight shifts to the left. Also during this dynamic change of direction, the momentum generated by the swinging clubhead further cocks the left wrist and fully cocks and hinges the right wrist, which maximizes the leverage angle.
The Start of the Forward Swing involves the final positioning of the body in preparation for the forward swing of the arms and club.
The lateral motion of the left leg continues to a point that brings the left knee nearly over the left foot. The right leg responds to the left leg movement by decreasing knee flex and angling more towards the target than its position at The Setup. The right foot is planted solidly on the ground to anchor and stabilize the right side of the body. Both feet remain flat on the ground.
The leg movement to the left causes a counter-clockwise rotation of the hips, which starts an un-winding of the torso, followed by a slight counter-clockwise rotation of the left shoulder. The body rotation due to the shifting of weight slows markedly once the left knee reaches its position over the left foot. The spine remains tilted to the right and the head turns farther to the right, helping to anchor the right side for the forward motion of the left arm.
