Basic Golf Swing Tips for the Beginners

Basic Golf Swing Tips for the Beginners

Article by Nicolus Cage

As the golf season is soon to get underway, now is the time to get “golf ready.” It does not matter if you are a beginner or an advanced golfer, it is always a good idea to review and practice the basics of the full golf swing. If you take just a few minutes each day to practice, simulate and ingrain the golf swing basics whether at home, in a hotel or working out, you will find that your golf swing fundamentals will be in place when you are ready to hit the course.

Below is a quick review of the golf swing basics for right handed golfers. Practice or simulate the golf swing basics whenever and wherever you can and get a head start for the golf season!

Golf Swing Setup

1. Assume an “athletic” position and ensure you are balanced. Your body weight should lie in the middle of feet. 2. Tilt your upper body from the hips about 30 degrees to help set the right spine angle to the ground.3. Flex your knees slightly and keep your back straight with your chin up off your chest.4. Let your harms hang loosely from your shoulders.5. Place your feet shoulder width apart for longer irons (5, 6, 7 irons), less than shoulder width apart for wedges and shorter irons and a little wider than your shoulders for longer irons (2, 3, 4 irons) and woods.Golf Swing Backswing and Downswing

Backswing

1. Rotate your club, body and arms together in unison while shifting your weight to the inside of your back leg. Make sure to keep your bag leg knee flexed and in the same position throughout the backswing.2. Hinge your wrists as your hands approach your waist and keep rotating back. 3. At the top of your backswing, go through these quick checkpoints: left arm is straight (but not rigid), eighty percent or so of your body weight is on the inside of your back leg. Your back leg knee is flexed. Your shoulders are turned about ninety degrees while your hips are turned from thirty to forty five degrees.Downswing

1. The first movement of your golf swing downswing should be a weight shift toward the front leg, followed by your hips and upper body unwinding to impact.2. When you reach the impact position, “release” the golf club by unhinging your wrists and hitting the ball with a square club face. Keep your hands ahead of the club face at impact. Also, check that your head is behind the ball at impact.3. After making impact with the golf ball, turn through toward your target. At this point, your arms and club should extend down the target line toward your target. 4. Keep rotating through to the finish position. At the finish position, your belly button should face your target and your club should be wrapped around your shoulder. 5. At the full finish position, ninety percent of your body weight should be on your front leg while your back foot is upright on its toes.

How a Golf Swing Analyzer Can Help

How a Golf Swing Analyzer Can Help

Article by Danilo Fleming

Are you looking to give yourself an edge in the game of golf over your friends. Continually slicing or hooking the ball in the woods on the first tee? A golf swing analyzer is specifically for finding those minute points of your swing mechanics that are causing you to slice, hook, or duff the ball and improve on them.

A golf swing analyzer can take one of two forms, a simple use at home device, or something more technical that would be golf instruction centers. Pricing of course like everything else in this fine game varies from a little to A LOT. You can purchase home swing analyzers for a few hundred bucks, or you could invest maybe a bit less for a one time golf swing analysis at a golf pro center.

The most basic of swing analysis tools is a small electronic device that attaches to the shaft of your golf club. When the golfer swings the device captures information such as club head speed, and can then calculate the distance and projection the ball should travel with that swing. While this device is good to measure particular points of your swing, it doesn’t do much for pointing out errors on mechanics you might be making.

To Get a More Detailed Analysis

To get a more complete picture of your golf swing, you need more in depth analysis. Using computer software and video is the best way to make this happen. Generally a golfer can records his/her swing via a video or digital camera and then load that video in your computer. The software then begins to manipulate it by extracting information about club head speed, path, and angle of contact. From that the golf swing analysis software can judge the distance, and trajectory the ball would have traveled. The software can even make recommendation on swing improvements and where you’d stand to make a big difference.

The most detailed and sophisticated of these video computers golf swing analysis tools are found at golf training centers. A golfer will address the ball (indoors generally) swing at the ball on an artificial tee box, and the ball is captured by a net hanging in front. The whole process is captured by a video camera that is connected directly with golf swing analyzer software package.

Very similar to that in the home version of the golf swing analysis software the swing is transcribed into a computer video that can be dissected. Your biomechanics are studied to extract some basic swing information, along with more detailed studies about your stance, hand position, body posture/alignment and head movement. Remember it’s not just the actual swing that can cause troubles, but also how the rest of your body acts while the swing is taking place.

Many golf swing analysis kits come with a video or cd that provides printouts and feedback reports on your swing. So you have something to go on when your practicing to correct errors in mechanics etc. Also if you do take the time to have your swing analyzed by a pro at a golf center you’ll likely have the option of receiving lessons to help correct what ever errors were found.

Are you a golfer that is trying to improve your game? Most golfers are and there are many tools out on the market that will help you. Sure, there are several instructional videos out there but they won’t necessarily show you what you’re doing wrong; they’re not tailored to your strengths and weaknesses. This is where technology has stepped in. Whether you’re a novice player, a weekend warrior, or a die hard player, golf software may be the golf analysis that you need to help with your swing.

Your golf swing is the key to perfecting your game so it’s important that your swing is analyzed for technique and style. How To Imprve Your Golf Swing

How To Imprve Your Golf Swing

Article by Michael

For some golf is just a good walk spoiled while for others it’s equated to a super bowl football game. This is a sport that is favored by many all over the world. Despite the fact that it originated in the UK, golf is popular in most if not all countries. This is a sport played by all ages. If you are like every other golf enthusiast you are probably continuously seeking ways to improve your golf swing. Many of those famous professionals still look for ways to improve their game. We will talk about a few of the best ways to do this here in this article.

It’s not about how fast you swing the club or iron, so don’t try to be impressive by shooting for that ‘whooshing’ sound. Too fast of a swing tends to be more of newbie golfer mistake, though. As you reach the summit of your swing – the top, then just pause a trifle. That pause is not supposed to be of a long duration, though. When you do pause, it’s about half of a pause, and be mindful of your body and the rhythm that is supposed to be there. If you swing without the pause, then you will ultimately lose control of your body and the swing during the switch from back to forward swing.

Set your left knee out in the direction of your target during your backswing. Your sense of stability in both knees as well as some muscle tension should be felt this way. This stance will reduce the amount of body turn you will experience during follow through. To practice this stance try using a basketball between your knees while you are swinging. This will show you how your left knee needs to be pointed and the type of tension and strength that you will need to draw upon.

Before you start, you need to remember to practice. What feels good to you one day won’t necessarily feel good to you the next. Take some time at the driving range or practice area before you head out onto the course or into the tournament. This will help you adjust for the different elements of the day. Windy weather and other issues will require compensations and this is when you will figure out how do to so. It is important to warm up before playing any sport, including golf. Taking practice swings at the driving range is the same as a runner stretching before a race.

Golf is enjoyed by many. It is fun for all ages. Even small children can have fun playing golf. No one has a perfect golf swing at first. It will take time and effort to develop for you to develop your golf swing.

There are many options and ways to improve your golf swing which will improve your overall game. Having the right clubs, a good stance and a good attitude about the game, for example, are all things that you can do to improve your swing. If you want to improve your game even further, invest in high quality golf swing analysis software.

Methods For Improving That Horrid Golf Swing

Methods For Improving That Horrid Golf Swing

Article by Michael

Improving their golf swing is something every golfer is trying to do. Getting the best score that you can is, after all, part of the fun of any game. How well you score depends almost entirely on the effectiveness of your golf swing. To get a good swing, you need to work at it. The only way to improve your swing is to practice. The following tips will help you improve your swing and your game.

It is patently untrue that you must hit harder when swinging into the wind. What happens is if you hit harder, the ball actually rises higher plus you put unwanted spin on it. So what actually suffers, in addition to your mental state, is the ball will be harder to control; plus your accuracy will go down the drain. Right, so then the right hitting stance is to move so the ball is closer to you, your stance, by about two inches or so. Keep your hands forward of you. Lastly, select a club that has a longer length than that which is normally called for by you. Then just hit the ball like normal without hitting harder. After doing it, come back and tell us how much better your accuracy plus greater control… we’ll wait.

Be sure to be mindful of your body weight, and you need to keep the weight on your right foot but on the inside. That is critically important when you are in the early stages of learning. So what you’ll do is sort of ‘rest’ on the right knee so you’ll have a better chance of generating more natural power. You must focus on putting weight on your right knee so you will have more control and power. You must maintain that steadiness factor in your game. Always relax, but keep in mind that right leg needs to be strong.

If there’s too much wind, more than desired, then just swing a little bit easier. We discussed windy conditions, but again if you hit too hard your trajectory will really suffer from it. A good rule of thumb is “swing easy into the breezy” which was coined by Greg Norman, the 1994 British Open Champion. It’s easy to think that you need more force when the wind is working against you. Remember: not everything can be solved with force. Plus, you will have increased control when you swing easier. So don’t let the wind trick you into ruining your game!

Golf is considered a great game by many people. People of all ages can enjoy golf. Even your small child can enjoy golfing with the family. At first, nobody’s golf swing is perfect. It will take time and effort to develop for you to develop your golf swing.

The good news is there are lots of things you can do to improve your golf swing and your overall game. Practicing both your stance and swing, as well as having the right clubs, will help you in your endeavor to improve your golf swing. If you want to improve your game even further, invest in high quality golf swing analysis software.

Key Golf Swing Tips to Help Get you Ready

Article by Nicolus Cage

We have compiled instant key golf swing tips to help get you ready for the coming golf season. Practice or simulate these golf swing tips in practice at home or on the range to help accelerate your development.

1. Get into an athletic, balanced position.2. Have your body weight in the middle of your feet. 3. Tilt upper body from the hips about thirty degrees. 4. Bend your knees slightly5. Keep a straight back and lift your chin off your chest. 6. Simply let your arms hang loosely.

Golf Swing Backswing

1. Move your body, arms and club as one unit while shifting your body weight to the inside of your back leg. Keep your back leg knee slightly bent and in the same position as you shift your weight back. 2. As you rotate back and your hands approach waist level, hinge your wrists. 3. Keep a straight (but not stiff) left arm as you rotate back.4. At the top of your backswing, your club face should be square to your forearm, your shoulders should be turned about ninety degrees, your hips should be turned thirty to forty-five degrees and your elbows should be level.5. Finally, at the top of your backswing, check that your club shaft is parallel to your target line.

Golf Swing Downswing

1. Once you are at the top of your backswing, your first movement of your swing downswing is to shift your body weight toward your front leg.2. Once you have shifted your weight to your front leg, the rest of your body follows closely behind – hips, upper body, and club – through ball impact. 3. Immediately after ball impact, “release” the golf club by unhinging your wrists and turn your body through the golf shot toward your target. Extend your club and arms down your target line toward your target. 4. Rotate through to the finish position until your belt buckle faces your target. 5. When you have completed your golf swing, check that the majority of your body weight is on your front leg with your back foot up on its toes.

A Golf Swing Trainer – Review of Golf Training Equipment

A Golf Swing Trainer – Review of Golf Training Equipment

Article by Terry Gorry

In this article I look at the many golf swing trainers on the market and assess their value to building a repeating, consistent swing. The goal of a golf swing trainer is to allow the golfer build a repeating swing that will stand up under pressure and improve the consistency in your game as a result.

The goal of a golf swing trainer is to allow the golfer build a repeating swing that will stand up under pressure and improve the consistency in your game as a result.

Golf training equipment comes in all shapes and sizes and one of the most popular is the swing plane trainer. This is essentially a metal frame which describes the arc that your club should travel on in the swing.

The aim is to build up muscle memory of swinging the club on the correct plane in both the back swing and through swing and whilst it is expensive it is a hugely beneficial training aid.

A simpler golf swing trainer is the hinged club..this is a regular club with a hinge in the shaft which will allow you to swing properly if you swing on the correct plane. If you don’t do so then the club shaft will hinge and break.

There are many other golf swing trainers on the market which have incorporated modern technology like golf swing analysis software, DVD and video analysis. But many times the use of the old fashioned impact bag and the weighted club can be just as beneficial.

It is difficult to describe in a short article such as this the myriad golf swing trainers on the market but if you are serious about improving your swing and your scores then you should consider investigating what is available on the market.

Golf Swing Analysis – What Can Golf Swing Analysis Do For You?

Article by Sutikno Slamet

Golf is a sport that requires a great deal of practise and commitment in order to play well and one part of the game that is very important and often causes problems is the golf swing. A golf swing is the first shot that a golfer will perform when he or she is teeing off and it makes all the difference when determining how far the ball will travel down the fairway. Being lucky enough to have the perfect golf swing is what every golfer strives to achieve and this can mean many hours practising and homing their golf swing until it is just right.

Often when a person is trying to master a technique they find that it is a good idea to be able to see exactly where they are going wrong in order to correct it and this is why many people choose to look into golf swing analysis. Like any type of analysis swing analysis works by carefully studying the golf swing in order to highlight any areas of the swing that require attention. There are different methods that a person can use to perform a swing analysis on themselves and one popular way is to use golf swing analysis software. This works by the golfer filming his or herself performing a golf swing and then playing this video back on their PC allowing them to identify where they are going wrong. Doing this is an easy and straightforward way to improve your golf swing as you are actually watching yourself rather than someone else on an instructional video for example.

Analyze Your Swing With A Gold Swing Software

Analyze Your Swing With A Gold Swing Software

Article by video.marketiwek

Golf is probably one of the best sports to engage in if you are looking for a total body exercise. It is not as strenuous as a gym workout and it most certainly is not violent as boxing or American football, but what it does is to make your mind, body, and emotions work in unison. It’s one of the few sports that test your mental and physical skills. It encourages you to have a lot of patience and lets you keep your emotions in check. The intricate balance of those factors can tell so much about your game performance. Of course, you also need to have the proper golf clubs to make things happen. When you feel that you are physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared to play golf, then the next thing to do is to practice your swing. The swing is what separates the men from the boys. It may look easy when you watch players on television, but when you’re finally there at the golf course; you will find yourself wondering why you can’t swing like Tiger Woods.

Some golf trainers say that there are golfers who have the innate ability to swing like a professional. It takes little to no effort on their part to make that perfect swing. The problem is that not everyone has that ability. That’s not to say there’s no hope for ordinary people like us. In fact, swinging is a skill and just like any other skill, it can be learned, developed, and improved. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, amateur, or advanced golfer; the truth remains, you need to practice, practice, and practice some more. Just keep in mind that everytime you practice, you need some kind of feedback from your trainer or coach. He or she should be able to evaluate your swing and let you know what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong. Unfortunately, not many people can afford to have a trainer each time they play. There are several ways to address this problem and one of those is to make use of a golf swing software. What it does is to record and analyze your swing so that you can improve your game. It’s like having a personal trainer but with more accurate feedback.

A golf swing software will allow you to analyze your swing and even compare it side by side other people’s swing. It has comparison and drawing tools that will give you instant feedback. It’s also a great way to see how professionals do it and you can mimic what they do. Having an immediate visual feedback will help you improve on your game by avoiding swing habits that can ruin your game. With a golf swing software, you will have a better understanding of the swing plane. This way, you will know where the golf club should remain during takeaway up until impact. You will also learn where to properly position your hands in order to have a full swing.

Believe it or not, even professionals make you use of golf swing software to improve their game. So, there’s no need to feel silly about recording yourself while swinging. The best part of using a golf swing software is that you can see yourself in slow and reverse motion, so you will see the areas you need to work on.

How Golf Swing Analyzers Improves Your Golf Technique

How Golf Swing Analyzers Improves Your Golf Technique

Article by Mitchell Woll

It is well known that sound technique is the key to hitting the golf ball pure. Actually, it is essential to becoming a low handicapper. Despite the presence of many quality golf training aids around, golf swing analyzers offer the most scientific approach to helping golfers improve their technique, their swing and ultimately their game..

Almost every golf swing on the pro tour is unique but there is one part of every swing that is very similar; the club at impact. A pro’s sound technique allows them to square up the club through impact with a descending blow on the back of the ball. While their swing path may vary depending on their desired shot shape, the best golfers swing down the target line through impact.

So why does the ordinary golfer’s technique make them upset and constantly searching for their ball? For many players, the reason lies in that they don’t understand what is happening with their club through the moment of impact. The fact is, even with the keenest vision, this part of the swing is impossible to see with the naked eye. This is where technology helps.

A golf swing analyzer can monitor the club head path and face angle which helps you to diagnose many problems and make small adjustments until you are striking the ball cleanly. Your golf swing technique can be further improved with the additional feedback the golf swing analyzer features. This includes tracking the club head velocity, impact location on the club face, ball speed, spin, launch angle and shot direction.

By training with these devices you will learn the secrets to solid contact. The riddle of your slices, hooks, miss-hits or shanks will be solved. Plus with the guidance of the golf swing analyzer will be able to cement a reliable swing and master your technique.

Establishing a strong golf technique normally takes many years of practice and patience. While a golf swing analyzer may not offer instantaneous results for most players, it can considerably speed up the process. You will be able to ingrain the correct muscle memory and hard wire your technique after only several practice sessions with its guidance.

It is an exciting time to be an aspiring golfer with the terrific technology available. From the numerous revolutionary swing analyzers to golf simulators, we can all feel like a professional, even if we are not playing like one… yet.
