Improving Golf Swings – How It Is Done

It’s a perpetual desire among golfers of all abilities to improve the ole golf swing. Well, we’re here to help your golf swing, and we can do that. After you learn the following, then you have to do your part and devote as much practice a your significant other will allow. You simply must practice because one thing you will be doing is creating strong muscle memories. Golfing is like Zen meditation, and it has its own rewards that only those who do it will ever know about.
Twist your hands through the ball. It is an inherent feeling to need to flip the wrist but this is a bad idea right at contact. When you make contact with the ball, your watch wrist should be pointed toward the ground so that, when you follow through, your wrist is pointed straight forward. If you can do this you will reduce your slice and keep your ball more on target. Your ball will travel farther with this extra strength at the point of contact.
You’ll want to maintain body weight on the inside of the right foot. This is one of the first things that you will learn when you start to play the game of golf. Putting your weight on that leg will allow you to create more power in your swings. If you don’t master putting your weight on that right knee your swing is going to be all over the place (and so will your ball)! Your consistency will also be improved the more you can be steady in your swing. Pretend your right leg is a pillar.
Back to windy conditions – remember to lighten up a little on the swing; and then swing easier. You can produce negative effects on your ball trajectory by hitting too hard when it’s windy. When it’s windy, keep in mind the phrase made famous by Greg Norman – “swing easy into the breezy.” We do understand that it can be intuitive to think you need more power when hitting into the breezy. Remember, there’s all kinds of forces and aerodynamic principles at play – swing easy, golfer… trust us. When you swing easier, you’ll find that your control is much better. So watch that wind and don’t be fooled.
Improving your golf swing is really nothing more than practicing good posture and core balance. Believe it or not these stances and posture tips help make sure you are getting the maximum effect on the ball when your club come into contact with it. This helps improve your accuracy and gets your ball going as far as you wish for it to. Too many people think that improving your golf swing is too difficult. Like most things, however, all it takes is some practice. Keep dilligently practicing and working hard and you will soon see the fruits of your labor.
